Try something new this year for Mother’s Day! Below are two great kid-friendly ideas to make the day extra special!

Pancakes with Faces

What’s better than breakfast in bed! Help the kids make personalized pancakes to bring mom in the morning! Start by making the pancakes as you usually do, then cut up fruits for the kids to use to decorate! Strawberries, bananas, blackberries, blueberries…they’re all good. Suggest they make the faces to resemble family members 🙂

Oreo Truffle Dipped Strawberries

This one is super easy and always a big hit! The recipe can easily be doubled or trippled.

Start by washing 8 large strawberries.Dry them well. Slice the stem off each strawberry and scoop out the center. A small melon baller works well if you have one. Set aside.

Next, put 8 oreo cookies in a ziplock bag and let your kids go to work pounding them into crumbs. Or use a rolling pin if they prefer. Combine the cookies with 1 oz of cream cheese in a bowl, stirring until mixed well.

To assemble, spoon 1/8 of the truffle mix into each strawberry. If you want to get fancy, melt some chocolate chips in the microwave and dip the tops of the strawberries. Sprinkle some more crushed cookies or colorful sprinkles on top.

Fabulous!
