Are High Waisted Pants BACK??

Are High Waisted Pants BACK??
YES! High-waisted pants are back and better than ever! We haven't seen them in stores since the 1990's when Brooke Shields made the Calvin Klein pants popular.  Maybe you've seen them in thrift stores here and there. Many of us think of high-waisted pants as "mom jeans". However, they were once considered the height of style. I'm so glad they are back as I am tired of the "muffin-top"...the fleshy part of my lower torso that bulges over the low-rise pan...

Motherhood Turned Me Into a Caffeine Addict

Motherhood Turned Me Into a Caffeine Addict
I love coffee. I love the taste. I love the smell. Always have. The day goes more smoothly for me with a cup of coffee in the morning. It just does. The truth is that before kids I drank decaf. I had a morning ritual where I sat down with my Kindle Fire to read the news or my latest novel while leisurely breathing in the wonderful coffee smell. I didn't need caffeine to get through the day, just the luxury of a few minutes before I started my

The Sunday Supper Movement resolves to bring back this family tradition. Dinner ne...

We Love Bubbles in the Tub!

We Love Bubbles in the Tub!
What is it about bubbles anyway? Why do the bubbles at Gymboree last so long? I LOVED Mr. Bubble brand bubble bath as a kid. We had the powder kind. My kids still have Mr. Bubble though now it comes as a hypoallergenic liquid. Seems like they love it as much as I did. To save time, we throw all three girls in the tub together at bath time. They actually fight over who has more bubbles on her side of the tub. Sigh. Soap makes bubbles Shampoo, too.

Potty Training: Getting the Job Done

Potty Training: Getting the Job Done
“Please bring her to school in a pull-up and some panties on Monday.” my oldest daughter’s preschool teacher said. “Huh?” And so our adventures in potty training (or toilet learning) began. She had been potty curious for awhile. I bought her a cute character potty chair to sit next to the toilet, which she wanted to carry everywhere she went. She often sat on it fully clothed in a diaper. That particular potty chair had a lid that closed, and it becam...
