As a Louisiana native, I am sick about the devastation from the recent floods. My heart hurts.

Devastated families in Southern Louisiana are in need of help. The future is uncertain for the thousands evacuated from their homes, many of whom lost everything.  This is the second time in a matter of months Louisiana saw more than 24 inches of rain from a single event.  Contributions of time, money and services of all sizes are greatly needed and will be for awhile. Please consider helping the victims if you are able.

1. Donate to organizations making an impact on the ground
Several emergency relief organizations have been instrumental in search and rescue operations, as well as providing shelter and immediate essentials for those displaced by the flooding. Here are a few organizations doing critical work.

United Way

Red Cross

Salvation Army

Your generosity will help the unlucky individuals and pets affected by this disaster get back on their feet. Someday you may be the one who needs help. Until then, hold tight to your loved ones and count your blessings – and please join me in working to ease the pain of those suffering in the Baton Rouge Area.
